Michael R. Scherr

Mike Scherr is a partner with the firm. He graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Victoria in 1992. Mr. Scherr was called to the British Columbia Bar in 1993 and commenced practice as an associate with Pearlman Lindholm thereafter.

His practice is now confined to civil litigation and pre-publication advice. Within the litigation field Mr. Scherr’s practice includes employment / labour law, business and construction disputes, estate litigation, intellectual property law (including software disputes), media law, defamation law and insurance law. He has successfully argued cases before the Provincial Court of British Columbia; the Supreme Court of British Columbia, the British Columbia Court of Appeal, the Federal Court of Canada (copyright, trademark and passing off cases), the Ontario Superior Court and the Superior Court of Wayne County, Michigan, U.S.A. (cross border estates issues). Mr. Scherr has also appeared before numerous tribunals, including the Labour Relations Board; the British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal, the Workers’ Compensation Review Board and the Workers’ Compensation Appeal Tribunal.
