Dale Murray
Dale Murray is a senior solicitor in the firm. He received his
law degree from the University of British Columbia in 1975 and was
called to the British Columbia Bar in 1976.
In his wills and estates practice Mr. Murray is involved in estate
planning, as well as preparation of wills, trust agreements, powers
of attorney and representation agreements for personal care. He
also provides legal services for estates, including probate applications
and estate administration. Mr. Murray works closely with other professionals,
such as accountants and trust officers, in advising his clients
on estate plans and administering estates.
Mr. Murray also maintains a corporate and commercial practice,
involving business incorporations, corporate record keeping, corporate
reorganizations for tax purposes and transactions involving the
purchase and sale of shares or business assets. Many of these transactions
require close cooperation with clients’ senior staff, accountants,
personal bankers and other professional business advisors.
He also handles general real estate transactions (purchase and
sale of property and mortgage financing) and property development
for his clients.
Mr. Murray has been, and continues to be, active in community organizations,
including the following:
• Past President – Cerebral Palsy Association of Lower
Vancouver Island
• Past President – Art Gallery of Greater Victoria
• Past Treasurer – Art Gallery of Greater Victoria Foundation
• Board Member – Friends of the Royal British Columbia
Museum
He also served for many years as an Officer in the Canadian Forces
Reserves and continues to be associated as a volunteer with the
Regimental Foundation of a local
Reserve Regiment.
