M. Gash
Brenda Gash is a senior associate with the firm. She graduated
from the University of Alberta in 1978 and was called to the Alberta
Bar in 1979. Ms. Gash practiced law in Lethbridge, Alberta for 17
years and subsequently moved to British Columbia, where she was
called to the Bar in 1999.
Her practice focus is in child protection and she is also experienced
in family law mediation. Ms. Gash has completed a course in collaborative
law and restricts her family practice to the collaborative approach.
Ms. Gash taught social welfare law as a sessional lecturer at the
University of Calgary, Lethbridge campus between 1986 and 1994.
She also taught in the political science department at the University
of Lethbridge between 1985 and 1994. Ms. Gash also sat for three
terms as a member of the Federal Human Rights Commission Tribunal,
hearing cases across Canada.
She has been an instructor and contributor to Continuing Legal
Education Society courses and course materials in both Alberta and
British Columbia in the areas of family law and child protection
practice. In 1995 Ms. Gash taught at the University of Southern
Australia in the Practical Legal Training course for the School
of Law, Adelaide, in the areas of negotiating, ethics and mediation.
Ms. Gash has contributed to many volunteer organizations in the
community, completed a marathon and has personal interests in the
areas of Japanese gardening, calligraphy, ikebana and woodworking.
